DIXON, Calif. — The City of Dixon and Dixon Police Department invite residents to join neighborhoods across the community for National Night Out on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. The event provides an opportunity for residents to connect with their neighbors and local first responders while helping build safer, stronger neighborhoods.

Dixon residents are encouraged to bring their neighborhoods together by hosting block parties, cookouts or other gatherings. Members of the Dixon Police Department and Dixon Fire Department will be out and about throughout the community from 4 p.m. until sunset, stopping by registered National Night Out gatherings and spending time with residents.

Neighborhoods interested in hosting a gathering and requesting a visit from Dixon Police and Fire can complete a National Night Out Block Party Application. Applications and additional information are available on the Dixon Police Department’s website, https://www.dixonpoliceca.gov/nationalnightout.

Completed applications, along with a map of the event location, may be emailed to specialevents@dixonpolice.org or submitted in person to the Dixon Police Department.

National Night Out is a chance to step outside, meet your neighbors and spend time with the first responders who serve Dixon every day. The City looks forward to seeing neighborhoods throughout the community come together for the evening.
