Dixon Police Department Honors Veterans on Veterans Day

As our nation pauses to honor Veterans Day, the Dixon Police Department extends its deepest gratitude to all who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Their courage, sacrifice, and commitment to protecting our freedoms represent the highest ideals of service—values shared by our department and our community.

The Dixon Police Department is especially proud to recognize the veterans who continue their service to others as members of our own team. These men and women have carried forward their dedication to duty from the military into public service here at home.

As a visible tribute, our uniformed employees who are veterans wear a bar on their police uniform signifying their branch of service. This symbol reflects both their military heritage and their ongoing commitment to serve the Dixon community with honor, integrity, and respect.

Chief Robert Thompson shared, “We are privileged to work alongside colleagues who have served our country in uniform and now serve our city with that same sense of duty and pride. On behalf of the Dixon Police Department, we thank all veterans—past and present—for their service and sacrifice.”

The Dixon Police Department encourages the community to join us in recognizing and thanking our nation’s veterans this Veterans Day.
