On Saturday, August 16, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., the Dixon Police Department received a 911 call reporting a physical altercation inside Luke’s Lounge, located in the 200 block of North 1st Street.
Responding officers located Kane Nishimoto, 21, of Vacaville, who had sustained critical injuries during the altercation. Despite lifesaving efforts, Mr. Nishimoto later died at a local hospital. The investigation determined that Mr. Nishimoto and Brian Sweeney, 44, were engaged in a physical altercation that resulted in Mr. Nishimoto’s fatal injuries.
Today, August 18, Mr. Sweeney turned himself in at the Dixon Police Department accompanied by his attorney. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Solano County Jail on charges of murder (PC 187(a)).
At this time, no other suspects remain outstanding. This case remains under active investigation by the Dixon Police Department Investigations Division.
