On Saturday, August 16, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., the Dixon Police Department received a 911 call reporting a physical altercation inside Luke’s Lounge, located in the 200 block of North 1st Street.

Responding officers arrived within minutes and located Kane Nishimoto, 21, of Vacaville, suffering from critical injuries to his torso. Mr. Nishimoto was transported to a local hospital, where despite extensive lifesaving efforts, he tragically succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation has determined that Mr. Nishimoto and Brian Sweeney, 44, were engaged in a physical altercation inside the establishment. During that altercation, Mr. Nishimoto sustained the injuries that ultimately resulted in his death. Detectives have identified Mr. Sweeney as a person of interest in this case. His current whereabouts are unknown.
